Kaksi laulua Vigiliasta, Two Extracts from the Vigil, for mixed choir, Choral score

Two songs from Rautavaara's large work All-Night Vigil (1. Avuksihuutopsalmi / Psalm of Invocation - commemorating St. John the Baptist and 2. Ehtoohymni / Evening Hymn). All-Night Vigil stems from Einojuhani Rautavaara?s vision-including childhood visit to the island monastery of Valamo in the middle of Lake Ladoga. Later Rautavaara was commissioned to set the orthodox divine service, or All-Night Vigil. No instruments are used in divine services in the Orthodox Church, and because of this the composer wanted to use the choir in as varied a way as possible. Text in Finnish or in English.
